Chromewell turns 57 years!

 

History

  • Founded by  Mr. I. R. Kapoor (an ex IAF Officer) in 1958, it started as an electroplating unit in Mumbai.

Present

  • Since 1984, Directors - Mr. Uday Kapoor and Mr. Sanjay Kapoor are managing the business, leading the team and creating a vision for the future.
  • In 2003 Mr. Suresh Sonwalkar joined the organization and is now Chromewell’s Executive Director with a key focus on diversifying the business and continuous improvement for long term growth and success.
  • In 2015, the 3rd Generation of Kapoor family -  Mr. Ishan Kapoor joined Chromewell and is engaging in each function of the business to understand and implement Chromewell's vision in future.
  • State of the art factories at Pune and Dewas with Press and Fabrication shops, including in-house Laser cutting, CNC pipe bending , robotic welding and a metallurgical lab.
  • Customer support office at Akurdi, PCMC for handling RFQ’s , devp. activities for NPD , Support to OEM SCM & SQA etc. 
  • 6000 sq.ft. warehouse facility for finished Powder Coated Parts adjacent to the coater to avoid damages in material handling.
  • Entered into a license agreement with CORAM (Italy) to manufacture steering columns in India. Coram Group is a reputed manufacturer producing fixed, adjustable, tilt and telescopic steering columns.
  • Entered into a JV to manufacture exhaust systems in India with Active Exhaust, Canada. Active Exhaust is a leading manufacturer of Tier IV and advanced exhaust solutions.

Future

  • After successful integration in exhaust and steering column products, our focus is now on manufacturing operator cabins for off highway vechicles to cater Indian and Export markets. We are looking for a technology partners for mutual growth. 
  • Chromewell is adding and upgrading their equipment’s to maximize production efficiently and to ensure the highest quality control capabilities. Our goal is to be one of the leading sheet metal component manufacturers globally by providing high quality products at competitive costs every time.
  • Chromewell is on a journey of continuous improvement, learning and adapting new technologies to diversify its product range and offer an end to end solution. A one stop shop for everything sheet metal. We aim to be Total Solution Providers for our clients.

Quality  Engineers  allocated  in  all  stages   of   manufacturing, Incoming RM, First Piece, In-process , Final  Inspection  are carried  out Firewall inspection points for critical parts are located around the shop floor.
Layout  Inspection , Dock Audit , Product &  process  audit, Supplier  audits  are conducted  as  per  plan .
Metallurgical  Testing , Welding  Penetration  Testing  , Micro- hardness Testing ,   Dye  penetrant  testing , Fusi Film  testing , Ultra sonic  testing , Magna Particle etc testing  carried  out at our in-house metallurgical lab..
Advance Product  Quality  Planning  (APQP)  , Production  Part  Approval  Process (PPAP )  , MSA , SPC  , FMEA  carried  out  with  CFT (Cross  Functional Team)
Six  sigma  Methodology  followed  for   Continuous Improvements  / Projects successfully  completed  within  specified  time  line.
Poka Yoke/ Mistake  Proofing  Methods  Implemented  in  Processes
